70% OF ADULTS* HAVE GUM DISEASE.
NOW – FOR THE FIRST TIME – THEY ALSO HAVE A SOLUTION.
A first to the market, Perioban is based around a technology which uses postbiotics. Designed to stop active periodontal disease, it treats gum disease by removing the bad bacteria, cleaning out the gum pockets and very importantly, ‘switches off’ the body’s auto immune response, which causes the breakdown of the tissues and bone loss around the teeth.

WHAT IS PERIOBAN?
Our mouth needs the right type of ‘good’ bacteria to stay healthy. The technology in Perioban removes the ‘bad’ (Dysbiotic) bacteria, replacing it with commensal, or ‘good’ bacteria that should be present in a healthy mouth.
A solution designed to be used at home with a WaterPik™ or other oral irrigator, Perioban ‘flushes out’ the pockets around the teeth and dissolves the sticky film that develops under the gum (called the biofilm), while at the same time switching off the body’s own ‘self-destruct’ process, the main cause of bone and tissue loss.
Unlike familiar off-the-shelf products, Perioban is not a mouth rinse. It is a postbiotic solution designed to be used for 20 days, twice a day, to arrest the disease process and to be used in conjunction with a good home oral care regime.
Perioban Active (400ml)
£84.95 (£2 / application)
- Perioban Active is a postbiotic solution (to be diluted)
- Must be used with an oral irrigator (for example WaterPik™)

Perioban Active is NOT a mouth-rinse and is not intended for use as a mouth-rinse. It should not be used in the same way. It must be applied with a oral irrigator, we recommend the Waterpik for proper use.

WHAT IS GUM DISEASE?
Let’s start with gingivitis; you may have heard the term in relation to gum disease. Gingivitis is the inflammation and bleeding caused by bacteria and food accumulating around the teeth. Gingivitis is reversible.
Left untreated gingivitis is likely to turn to periodontal disease, which can not be reversed. Periodontal disease is the destruction of the bone and tissue which hold the teeth in place. As the disease develops, ‘pockets’ are created around the teeth caused by the tissue destruction, and these ‘pockets’ fill with ‘bad bacteria’ accelerating the destructive process.
Flossing and brushing does not get under the gums and therefore does not halt periodontal disease. Perioban is the first postbiotic solution designed to actively remove bacteria and reduce inflammation in the pockets.
OUR STORY
For over 14 years a team of UK dentists have been collaborating to
find a solution that halts periodontal disease. Over that time many products have been tested.
Perioban is unique. It contains “postbiotics” which switch off the bodies inflammatory process. It is this process that causes bone and tissue loss. The Postbiotics are combined with a surfactant to break down the biofilm, removing the bad bacteria from the dental pockets.

Popular FAQs
What is Gum Disease?
Gingivitis is the inflammation and bleeding caused by bacteria and food accumulating around the teeth due to inadequate home dental cleaning. Gingivitis, with good home care is reversible.
Periodontal disease is inflammation and bleeding under the gums in “pockets” caused by long term poor dental hygiene (in most cases). Periodontal disease can never be reversed. Flossing and brushing does not get “under the gums” and therefore does not halt periodontal disease. Perioban is the first postbiotic solution designed to actively remove bacteria and reduce inflammation in the pockets.
What are the symptoms of gum disease?
- Bleeding gums (blood in the sink after brushing)
- Bad taste
- Metallic taste
- Bad breath (halitosis)
- Mobile teeth
- Infection (abscess)
How is gum disease treated?
Conventional treatment will include visiting the dental hygienist so that the teeth and the pockets can be cleaned. Sometimes the hygienist or dentist will insert an antibiotic gel into the pocket. This helps but the “pockets” are only clean immediately after the cleaning and for a few more days after which, because there is a “pocket” present, the pocket fills back up with bacteria and debris, and so the cycle of inflammation re-starts. This is why cleaning must be achieved under the gum at home.
What happens if gum disease is not treated?
Bad breath, loose teeth, painful teeth, removal of painful teeth. It takes years for this to happen but once you get there, nothing will help. Teeth cannot “magically” be made better or re-fixed. The harm has been done and the end result is loss of the teeth.
